Privacy Policy

What we collect

We collect information necessary to provide the TutorPing service. This includes: account information (name, email address, profile photo via Google sign-in), tutor profile data (subjects you teach, location, rates, teaching style, and response preferences), and service usage data (which leads you view, copy, or skip).

How we use it

We use your information to: find and score relevant leads from public online sources, generate personalized response drafts, send email alerts for high-quality leads, and improve the accuracy of lead matching over time. Your tutor profile is used solely to personalize lead scoring and response generation.

Public data we monitor

TutorPing monitors publicly available posts on Reddit, Craigslist, Facebook (public groups only), College Confidential, and other public forums. We do not access private groups, direct messages, or any content that requires authentication. All monitored content is publicly accessible to anyone with a web browser.

What we don't do

We do not sell, rent, share, or trade your personal information with anyone. We do not use your data for advertising. We do not share your tutor profile with other users. We do not post content on any platform on your behalf (all posting is done manually by you).

Third-party services

We use third-party service providers to operate TutorPing, including providers for authentication (Google Firebase), lead analysis and response generation (Anthropic Claude API), email delivery (lead alerts), and hosting (Google Cloud). These providers process data on our behalf under their respective privacy policies. A current list of sub-processors is available upon request by emailing hello@tutorping.ai.

Data security

All data is transmitted over HTTPS. Your account is secured via Firebase Authentication. Tutor profile data and lead history are stored in a secured database with access limited to your account. We do not store passwords — authentication is handled entirely by Google Firebase.

Your rights

You can request to view, export, or delete your data at any time by emailing hello@tutorping.ai. We will respond within 30 days. You can also delete your account directly, which removes your tutor profile, lead history, and source configuration.

If you're a resident of California, you have additional rights under the CCPA including the right to know what personal information we hold and the right to request its deletion.

Data retention

We retain your tutor profile and lead history for the duration of your active account. Raw scraped posts from public sources are automatically deleted after 72 hours. If you delete your account, we will remove your data within 30 days.

Changes

We may update this policy as the service evolves. Material changes will be communicated by email to active users.
